East Antrim Ulster Unionist Party representative Roy Beggs MLA has received an update from the Department for Infrastructure in relation to the proposed 20 mph speed limit signs at peak times at Model PS.
Roy Beggs MLA said “I am aware that pilot 20 mph zones are now operational in other parts of Northern Ireland and with this information in mind I contacted the Department to seek an update on the 20mph pilot scheme in Carrickfergus, specifically in relation to Model PS. I have received an update which advises that the legislation is in place and the signs have been ordered. I was also advised by the Departmental Assembly Liaison Officer that the scheme is programmed to be implemented this financial year.”
