Beggs urges PSNI cooperation to find those behind A8 windscreen smash

Roy Beggs, East Antrim MLA for the Ulster Unionist Party has urged the local community to come forwards with information that might help apprehend those responsible for the recent attack on a lorry on the A8.

Roy Beggs MLA said “The attack on the A8 was shocking and my thoughts are with the driver of the lorry. I understand that he is badly injured, however I commend the driver for being able to bring the lorry to a halt in a safe manner following such a horrific ordeal.

Whoever was responsible for dropping the rocks from the wheelie bin onto the A8 dual carriageway should be ashamed of themselves. I urge the community to think back to Friday evening. If you think you have any information that could help the PSNI, then do not hesitate to come forward by calling 101 and quoting reference number 1944 08/01/21.”
