Beggs welcomes opening of A8 Larne/Belfast dual carriageway

Roy Beggs MLA has welcomed the opening of the A8 Larne/ Belfast Dual carriageway which will improve road safety and travel times for commuters, visitors and Commercial vehicles travel through Larne.

Roy Beggs MLA said, “With only some work remaining at the Larne end of the scheme, I know that public will be delighted with the opening of the new Larne dual carriageway last weekend. The new dual carriageway will improve road safety and shorten the journey time between Larne and the rest of NI. I would hope that this will assist the Port of Larne in attracting more trade and with the improved roads linkage, it will also encourage new investment in business and jobs for Larne.

The contractors, Lagan/Ferrovial must be complimented for maintaining traffic flow during the period of this extensive roads scheme with limited disruption to roads users.”
