Beggs Welcomes Post Office Modernisation on Larne Main Street

East Antrim Ulster Unionist Assemblyman Roy Beggs has welcomed news that the Post office on Larne Main Street is to be modernised to become one of the new main style branches.

Mr Beggs said “Any modernisation in service is to be welcomed and I am advised that the Post Office in question will also have longer opening hours.  The upgrade will mean that facilities will be refurbished, with the same products and services offered.  The new-look Post office will hopefully open on 25th January, following a short period of closure for the refurbishment works to take place from 16th January at 5:30.”

A Royal mail spokesperson said “This change is part of a major programme of modernisation taking place across the Post Office network, the largest in the history of Post Office Ltd.  The Programme is underpinned by Government investment and will see up to 8,000 branches modernised and additional investment in over 3,000 community and outreach branches.  Our aim is to create a more modern and convenient retail experience for customers that will include longer opening hours.”
