Ulster Unionist MLA Roy Beggs has commented following a public meeting organised by the NAHT trade union to discuss the funding crisis in schools.
The meeting was held at Victoria Primary School. in Carrick, on Monday.
Mr. Beggs, a governor, at Roddensvale School in Larne and former governor, of Glynn Primary School, said: “Well done to the organisers and to all who attended the public meeting.
“School funding is an important issue and money is not being well spent by the Department of Education. We need transparency and we need democracy restored so we can have proper scrutiny.”
