Glenarm PSNI Station Should be Kept Open for Community Use

Ulster Unionist MLA for East Antrim Roy Beggs Jnr has reacted to the news that the PSNI Area commander is recommending to the ACC and the Policing Board that Glenarm Police station should be closed. Roy Beggs MLA said; “I am disappointed by the news that Chief Superintendent Noble is recommending closure of Glenarm PSNI station to the Policing Board . I made a submission to the Review and attended the public consultation meeting on behalf of the Ulster Unionist Party arguing for the continued existence of the Police Station in Glenarm. I would be concerned that police officers will now have to spend a considerably longer time travelling up and down to Larne PSNI station making it more difficult to spend time on the ground in the coastal areas of Glenarm and Carnlough.
