Roy Beggs, Ulster Unionist MLA, has urged electricity users to send a message to Power NI by considering alternative suppliers, following their announcement of an 18% increase in electricity prices. Roy Beggs MLA said, ‘The increase of 18% in electricity charges by Power NI, will have come as a major blow to many struggling consumers. It is time that consumers consider other suppliers as Power NI, who supply 80% of NI consumers are continuing to maximise their profits, restricted only by the tariff limit set by the utility regulator. I would urge all electricity users to look for savings by consider the charges of the different electricity suppliers.
