Win or lose, Norway trip for NI fans will be a costly one

Northern Ireland football fans are among some of the most loyal supporters in the game, following their heroes to all manner of far-flung foreign fields.

The success of the team under current manager Michael O’Neill has only increased the enthusiasm of the Green and White Army.

But such devotion will come with a hefty price tag when the team plays a vital World Cup qualifying match in Oslo, Norway in October.

Food and drink prices – never mind the cost of getting there – are astronomical. While beer at £7 a half-litre or a burger at £23 will taste fine if the team wins, defeat would leave a bad taste in the mouth.
