Beggs condemns threat made against East Antrim Assembly colleague
East Antrim Ulster Unionist Party MLA Roy Beggs has added his condemnation to those behind threats made to public representatives, including his constituency colleague David Hilditch MLA.
Mr Beggs MLA said “I have known David for many years, and he has served the East Antrim area as a public representative for decades. I condemn those faceless individuals who see fit to threaten David, and he has my support. There is no place for threats or intimidation in our society and I am sure that David will not be deterred.
Those who issue threats again politicians and journalists are attempting to remove the normal democratic, civil freedoms that we all take for granted that our forefathers battled to achieve. We all should indicate our support for those effected by undemocratic forces.”
