Beggs Secures A8 Grass Cutting

Ulster Unionist Party representative Roy Beggs MLA has pressed for the cutting on the unsightly central grass reservation on the A8 Belfast Road dual carriageway approach to Larne, between Millbrook and the New Ballyrickard road Roundabout

Mr Beggs said “The section of the A8 between Millbrook and the new Ballyrickard Road roundabout had been under the control of the Road Contractor and the grass in the central reservation had not been cut at all during 2015.  This created an unsightly picture for visitors to Larne.  It is now back under Transport NI control and following a complaint from a local constituent I pressed Transport NI to improve the area.  Whilst I am pleased that Transport NI have commenced cutting the unkempt central area, they still have to complete the job by cutting the areas adjacent to the Road. The Minister referred to the matter in a recent assembly question and I hope that the job will be finished quickly.
