Roy Beggs MLA has welcomed the building progress at the new Choice Housing Greenisland House supportive housing scheme.

Roy Beggs MLA said “Having lobbied for investment in supportive housing in the Carrickfergus area, I was pleased to visit the Choice House development at Greenisland House to view the progress in recent months.”

Following the closure of Greenisland House Residential Care Home, Roy Beggs MLA had lobbied for capital investment to provide much needed additional supportive housing for the area.

“With the building now weather tight, the supportive housing development would appear to be well on schedule for its official opening next spring. The Northern Health & Social Care Trust and Choice Housing appear to be working well together in finalising the arrangements which will enable supportive care to be available on site during the day and telecare and back up support at night.”

“I believe that with the great location, the design of the independent living areas together with the on-site support, that the new Greenisland House will be popular for those in need of the additional care and support that will be provided.”
