Belfast hotel staff ‘shaken’ after robbery attempt – BelfastTelegraph.co.uk

Hotel staff have been left shaken after an attempted robbery in Belfast after which a 37-year-old was arrested.

It happened on Waring Street in the city on Saturday morning 

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report at around 8.30am that a man had entered a hotel in the area, approached staff and demanded cash. He subsequently made off empty-handed, leaving members of staff shaken.

“We have arrested a 37-year-old man on suspicion of attempted robbery. He remains in custody at this time.

“The arrest is in keeping with our continued commitment to safeguard members of the public.

“Our enquiries are continuing, and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact us on 101, quoting reference number 427 of 02/10/21.”
