Beggs Welcomes 40k Awards for All Funding for East Antrim

Ulster Unionist MLA Roy Beggs has welcomed the fact that nearly £40k is to be invested in the East Antrim area by Awards for All.  The programme aims to bring real improvements to communities and to the lives of people most in need , by funding projects which involve people in their communities, bringing them together to enjoy a wide range of charitable, community, educational, environmental and health-related activities.

Mr Beggs said “Cushendun and District Development Association have been granted £9,950 to carry out a series of recreational classes and community activities. Kilwaughter LOL 520 has also been given £10,000 to make improvements to its hall so it can be used for more community activities and events.

“St James Primary School will use their £10k to provide iPads for their pupils for after-school activities and Ulidia Integrated College will allocate their £10,000 towards suicide awareness and prevention training for pupils and parents.”

“If you or your community group want to apply for grants of between £500 and £10,000 for a project which will last up to 12 months, then check out to find out more details and application forms.”
