Beggs Welcomes Recovery of Skunk Cannabis in Greenisland

Ulster Unionist Assemblyman Roy Beggs MLA has welcomed the news that skunk cannabis has been recovered from the Greenisland area, as part of a crackdown on drug use in Northern Ireland.

Roy Beggs MLA said “I welcome the fact that skunk cannabis has been taken off the streets of Greenisland, as part of a campaign which has seen £800,000 of the drug recovered in Northern Ireland in recent times – the consequences of drug use are devastating to users mental health and health, in addition to negatively affecting the users friends and family.  I also welcome the involvement of other enforcement agencies in the international investigation into drug dealing, and it goes to highlight the important role of the National Crime Agency in Northern Ireland.”

Ulster Unionist member of the local Carrickfergus Policing and Community Safety Partnership Cllr Andrew Wilson added “If you are aware of anything suspicious within your community – contact the PSNI to make your concerns known on the non-emergency number of 101.”
