UUP MLA Beggs calls for ours streets to be ruled by the law not guns

Following the gun  shot into a house at Victoria Street, Carrickfergus,  Roy Beggs MLA has called for everyone to assist the law to govern the streets rather than the gunman. Roy Beggs MLA said, “This latest gun shot at Victoria Street, Carrickfergus, an urban area, could easily resulted in death or injury.  This street, which is the main route to the local Bus and Rail station and only a few yards from my own office will cause many to pause and think about this criminal act.    I would call for the end of weapons on our streets and ask anyone with information about the incident to assist the police with their enquiries.”

In response, Mr Wells stated: “Financial planning for 2015/16 is on-going and all Health and Social Care Trusts must deliver substantial savings in order to live within budget and meet rising demand across HSC services. “The Northern Health and Social Care Trust has proposed in its savings that the temporary closure of Whiteabbey Hospital Minor Injuries Unit will continue in 2015/16. The savings plan also indicates that the Trust will consult on a permanent closure of the Minor Injuries Unit.” Mr Beggs said … Continue reading
