To us in Northern Ireland, the Antrim coast road is one of the great scenic drives in the UK, but as The One Show pointed out last night, it is not particularly well known in the other regions. That gap in their knowledge should be filled this week as the BBC evening flagship show will spend each day visiting a different town or village along the route.
That is the sort of publicity that the tourist authorities could not buy and it is a mark of faith by the BBC that it feels this is an area that will keep the audience tuning in.
This is the show that helped make Christine Bleakley a national star. Will it do the same for the Antrim coast?
